Animals have been a lifelong passion for Tamison, Owner and Head Trainer of Elevate Dog Center and Sit! Stay! Play Dog Daycare in Tucson, Arizona. Raised in Arizona, she began riding and competing with horses at a young age. With encouragement from her family, Tamison joined a local 4-H program, where she gained hands-on experience raising, training, showing, and competing with a variety of animals, including dogs, horses, and pigs. She also competed in junior and high school rodeo as well as AKC dog events.

Her passion for animals eventually developed into a career focused on canine behavior, dog training, animal health, and competitive dog sports.

Following high school and 4-H, Tamison continued her education through a Veterinary Technician program and Animal Behavior College. She went on to work at two veterinary specialty centers, gaining valuable experience in animal health and care before furthering her professional dog-training education at the Michael Ellis School for Dog Trainers.

Tamison has spent years professionally training dogs and learning alongside experienced trainers/mentors throughout Arizona. Her training philosophy focuses on developing better communication and stronger relationships between dogs and their handlers while creating training plans tailored to the individual dog.

Her experience includes puppy development, obedience training, behavior training, private dog training, group classes, and competitive dog sports. She continues to train and compete with her own dogs and horses throughout the country, including participation in sports such as flyball.

Tamison's vision for Elevate Dog Center is to combine her background in veterinary medicine, professional dog training, canine behavior, and competitive dog sports to create a comprehensive dog training and pet care facility for the Tucson community.

Whether helping a new puppy build a strong foundation, improving communication between a dog and owner, working through training challenges, or helping a sport dog reach the next level, Tamison's goal is to help every dog and handler become a stronger, more confident team.

Alan - Owner

Alan — Facility Operations & Professional Dog Snuggler

Born and raised in Arizona, Alan has been surrounded by animals his entire life. Growing up in Vail, Arizona, his family included a little bit of everything—horses, dogs, cats, and chickens. That lifelong love of animals continues today as an important part of his role at Elevate Dog Center and Sit! Stay! Play! in Tucson.

Around the center, Alan is affectionately known as our “Bob the Builder.” From facility improvements and maintenance to new upgrades for our clients and their pets, he's constantly working behind the scenes to make Elevate a clean, safe, comfortable, and welcoming dog training and pet boarding facility.

When he's not building, fixing, or improving something, you'll probably find Alan spending time with the dogs. He competes in flyball with his own dogs, helps throughout the center, and has earned another important title: ultimate dog snuggler. Whether a boarding dog needs a little extra attention or someone simply needs a scratch behind the ears, Alan is always happy to step in.

Tarah — Dog Trainer & Training Manager

Veterinary Experience, Canine Behavior & Dog Sports

An Arizona native with more than 25 years of experience in veterinary medicine, Tarah brings an incredible combination of animal care, canine behavior, training, and dog-sport experience to the team at Elevate Dog Center in Tucson, Arizona.

Tarah works part-time with Elevate as a Dog Trainer and Training Manager while continuing her work as a veterinary technician with Arizona Veterinary Ambulance. Her extensive veterinary background gives her a unique perspective when working with dogs, allowing her to combine years of hands-on animal experience with her passion for canine behavior and dog training.

Animals are also a huge part of Tarah's life outside of work. She owns and competes with both horses and dogs in a variety of disciplines. She currently trains and competes with her Rhodesian Ridgeback in multiple dog sports and breed events, giving her firsth and experience with the dedication, communication, and training required to build a successful dog-and-handler team.

Canine Training, Conditioning & Rehabilitation

Tarah's passion for dog behavior, canine fitness, and performance makes her a valuable resource for our training dogs and their owners. Her experience is especially beneficial when working with dogs that need thoughtful training, improved body awareness, conditioning, or support as they develop into stronger and more confident canine athletes.

In addition to her work at Elevate Dog Center, Sarah offers canine rehabilitation and conditioning services through Locomotion K9. These services can benefit pet dogs and canine athletes working toward improved strength, mobility, conditioning, fitness, and overall physical performance.
